MDA Ltd., a leading provider of advanced technology and services to the global space industry, has been selected as the prime contractor for Telesat's revolutionary Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation Telesat Lightspeed.

Valued at approximately $2.1 billion, the contract is the largest in MDA's history and includes the design, manufacture, assembly and test of 198 satellites with options for Telesat to purchase up to 100 additional satellites.

This agreement will see Iveda supply networking equipment and IPC computers to 45 new locations across the country, helping to create a cutting-edge video command, communication, and control system. An additional 194 locations could be added in the future, bringing the total number of sites to 300.

Collins Aerospace, a business of RTX, has been awarded a $36 million contract from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory to develop and demonstrate a platform-agnostic, Beyond-Line-Of-Sight, satellite communications pod. This pod will provide warfighters with resilient, high bandwidth, low latency communications and data directly to the cockpit.

Spire Global Inc., a provider of space-based data, analytics and space services, has been awarded a contract by GHGSat, a leader in high-resolution greenhouse gas monitoring from space. Under the agreement, Spire will build, launch and operate four 16U satellites that will carry GHGSat payloads to monitor greenhouse gas emissions. This is an extension of the initial agreement between the two companies for three 16U satellites that are planned to launch by the end of 2023.
