Fundz is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Fundz, LLC collects, uses, and shares information when you access and use our website or the Fundz software application.

We Never Sell Personal Information

Fundz does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We believe your data is yours, and we treat it with the highest level of respect and care.

Use of Credit Card Information

All payment processing is handled by Braintree Payments, a PayPal service. Your credit card information is transmitted directly to Braintree using SSL encryption and is never stored on Fundz servers. Braintree is PCI DSS compliant and adheres to the highest industry standards for payment security.

Security of Your Personal Information

Fundz takes appropriate measures to protect your personal information using secure servers and encryption technologies. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

The Information We Collect

Personal Information: When you register for an account or use Fundz, we may collect your name, email address, company name, billing information, login credentials, phone number, and IP address.

Other Information: We also collect information about your preferences, activity data within the application, cookies and analytics data, information from third-party sources, and device information such as browser type and operating system.

Customer Data

You retain all rights, title, and interest in your customer data. Fundz processes your data solely to provide the service and does not use it for any other purpose. We treat your data as confidential and will not share it except as described in this policy.

Communication Preferences

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us. Please note that transactional emails related to your account and service usage will continue to be sent as they are necessary for the operation of the service.

How We Use and Share Information

We use your information to provide and improve the Fundz service, process payments, analyze usage patterns, and maintain the security and integrity of our platform. We may share information with trusted service providers solely as needed to operate the service. We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data under the following legal bases: performance of a contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, and your consent where applicable.

International Data Transfers

Fundz is operated in the United States. If you are accessing the service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses and other appropriate safeguards to ensure an adequate level of data protection.

Your Rights

Children

Fundz does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

The Fundz service may contain links to external websites. We have no control over the privacy practices of third-party websites and are not responsible for their content or policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of the service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

API Usage Logging (Fundz Agent API)

This section applies to the Fundz Agent API at api.fundz.net/v1/agent. We write one record for each API call. That record contains the API key identifier (an identifier, never the key itself), the account email associated with the key, the plan tier, the tool called, the units charged, the number of companies checked, the response time, the number of evidence items returned, whether the call succeeded, and the timestamp. We also keep per-day and per-month totals of units and calls for each key.

We do not record the content of your requests. The company domains you look up are not stored in these records, and neither are the responses we return to you.

We use these records for two purposes and no others: metering and billing, because usage is billed per unit and a per-call record is what an invoice is reconciled against; and abuse prevention and service reliability, meaning rate limits, allowance enforcement, and investigating a key that is degrading the service for other customers. We do not use API usage records for marketing, we do not sell them, and we do not share them with third parties except where required by law.

• Per-call records are deleted automatically after 400 days, a full annual billing cycle plus a period for billing disputes.
• Per-day and per-month usage totals are retained as billing records, because they are the figures an invoice was calculated from.
• Rate-limiting counters are deleted after one hour.

Your API key is stored only as a SHA-256 hash. We cannot recover the key itself and cannot tell you what it is if you lose it. We can only issue a replacement and revoke the old one. Revoking a key stops it authenticating immediately. To ask what we hold for your key, to have per-call records deleted before the 400 days elapse, or to have a key revoked, contact john@fundz.net. We keep the monthly billing totals where required for accounting purposes.
