Centene Corporation's Texas subsidiary, Superior HealthPlan, has been awarded a six-year contract, with a maximum of three additional two-year extensions, by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to continue providing healthcare coverage to the aged, blind and disabled (ABD) population through the STAR+PLUS program. The new contract will take effect in September 2024 and will include seven service delivery areas, six of which will remain the same while the Travis County SDA, which includes Austin, will be added and the Bexar County SDA, which includes San Antonio, will no longer be served.

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a contract by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop and demonstrate a nuclear-powered spacecraft known as Demonstration Rocket for Agile Cislunar Operations (DRACO). This project, which is being conducted in partnership with NASA's Space Technology Mission Directorate, will represent a major advancement in propulsion technology. The in-space flight demonstration of the nuclear thermal rocket engine vehicle is scheduled to take place no later than 2027.
