Centene Corporations Texas Subsidiary Awarded Six-Year Contract

Centene Corporation's Texas subsidiary, Superior HealthPlan, has been awarded a six-year contract, with a maximum of three additional two-year extensions, by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to continue providing healthcare coverage to the aged, blind and disabled (ABD) population through the STAR+PLUS program. The new contract will take effect in September 2024 and will include seven service delivery areas, six of which will remain the same while the Travis County SDA, which includes Austin, will be added and the Bexar County SDA, which includes San Antonio, will no longer be served.

Sarah M. London, Chief Executive Officer of Centene Corporation, expressed her pleasure in continuing the partnership with the state to help build a healthier Texas. Mark Sanders, President and CEO of Superior HealthPlan, also shared his enthusiasm in being entrusted with providing comprehensive healthcare and support to the STAR+PLUS population.

Since 1999, Superior has served individuals enrolled in Medicaid and has focused on providing quality healthcare coverage for underinsured and uninsured individuals.
