MSA Safety Inc. Awarded $24.5 Million Contract from U.S. Navy

MSA Safety Incorporated, a leading provider of safety products and solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a $24.5 million contract from the U.S. Navy to supply components for refrigerant monitoring systems. These components will be used on naval ships around the world.

Nish Vartanian, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MSA Safety, expressed his pride in the company's selection as the sole-source provider for this equipment. He noted that the multi-year contract will help ensure uniformity in the detection equipment used onboard ships, which will minimize the learning curve associated with system training, use and maintenance.

All production work for the components will take place at the company's New Kensington, Pa., manufacturing plant.
