Bengaluru: Yellow Class, an education technology startup focused on children’s extracurricular activities, has raised $6 million in a Series A funding round led by Elevation Capital. A clutch of angel investors— including Meesho’s cofounder Vidit Aatrey and PropTiger CEO Dhruv Agarwala—and existing investors India Quotient, Titan Capital & First Cheque participated in the fundraise.

The fresh capital, the edtech startup said, will be used for improving the product, developing more holistic content, building brand awareness, hiring for leadership roles, and driving expansion in more than 500 cities in India and abroad. ”Within edtech, the extracurricular segment in India is expected to reach a size of $5.8 billion in 2021,” Yellow Class said. “Travelling long distances for a class is a major inconvenience as parents need to manage their work/home lives and time.
