One Championship, the Asian mixed martial arts (MMA) company, has raised US$179 million in its latest financing round from investors like Temasek, Singapore’s state-owned investment firm, and Sequoia, the US-based VC firm, according to data from VentureCap Insights.

The company reportedly released new shares this week worth S$238.9 million (US$174 million), taking its valuation to US$1.2 billion. One Championship was founded in 2011 by Chatri Sityodtong, a Harvard graduate who aims to grow the company into a US$100 billion global sports platform. However, according to VentureCap, One Championship is valued “much higher” at nearly US$1.3 billion.
