Malcolm Turnbull and Simon Holmes a Court-backed modular solar panel pioneer, 5B Solar, has made 25 per cent of its workforce redundant due to supply chain and logistics disruptions, which have put a handbrake on its growth and triggered a restructure.

Having kicked off a capital raise in August last year, the company took on feedback from investors, and has now secured the first $30 million tranche of its Series B funding round, led by existing investors AES Corporation and Artesian Venture Capital.
