Singapore-based blockchain gaming startup Ethlas has raised $2.7 million in seed funding from investors including Sequoia Capital India, Yield Guild Games Southeast Asia, and Venturra Capital.

The company did not disclose the identities of two other founders. The founders were inspired to start Ethlas after reading about people in the Philippines making money during the pandemic by playing blockchain games, the company said in a statement. Global Blockchain Innovative Capital, Play It Forward DAO, Blockchain Space, Genesis Fund, Deus Ex DAO, Hustle Fund, and executives from Grab, Coinbase, Switcheo, and CoinMarketCap also joined the round, Ethlas said in a statement. Ethlas claimed to have 100,000 crypto-wallet users globally and three million gameplays on its platform as of end-January this year.
