Indonesian fisheries e-commerce startup Aruna has raised $30 million in a Series A funding extension round led by Temasek-backed Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India, the company announced on Thursday, bringing the total Series A funding to $65 million. The fresh capital will be used to expand Aruna’s reach into new geographies across the archipelago and enlarge its global market share, the startup said in a statement. Currently, Aruna operates in 27 provinces in Indonesia. Aslam founded Aruna in 2016 with Indraka Fadhlillah, and Utari Octavianty as a platform to connect local fishermen with buyers such as restaurants and exporters.
