Christopher Durand has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA), effective November 21, 2024, following a nationwide search. Durand has a long history with RIPTA, previously serving as Interim CEO and playing a key role in guiding the agency through economic challenges amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
