Kirva Hospice is a not-for-profit organization providing excellence of care to patients, families, and caregivers throughout the Greater Richmond region. Founded in 2022 as a joint venture between JFS (Jewish Family Services) Richmond and Beth Sholom Senior Living of Richmond, Kirva Hospice is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC). Unlike many other hospice organizations with a national footprint, Kirva is locally based and easily accessible. Kirva’s philosophy of care is deeply rooted in the Jewish traditions and values that represent family, caring for the sick and elderly, and extending concern and respect to the communities Kirva is privileged to serve. The name of the organization evolved from a Hebrew word (keer-vah), meaning closeness, caring, and companionship.
