Dr Vera Etches, who led Ottawa residents through the COVID-19 pandemic as the medical officer of health, has been appointed as the new President and CEO of CHEO. The board of directors of the Eastern Ontario regional children’s hospital made the announcement, following a months-long search for a replacement for Alex Munter. Etches is set to commence her new role on March 3, 2025.
