Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri announced the acquisition of Leonardo S.p.A's 'Underwater Armaments Systems' business, further strengthening its position as a leader in the underwater and naval defense sector. This strategic acquisition includes control of Italy’s underwater acoustic technologies, reinforcing Fincantieri's growth strategy in the underwater sector, including military, security, and civilian applications. The acquisition, valued at €300 million with potential for additional consideration, is expected to be finalized at the beginning of 2025.
