Delhaize, a local Belgian brand of Ahold Delhaize, has announced its intention to acquire all shares in Delfood NV from the louis delhaize Group. This strategic acquisition aims to expand Delhaize's position in the Belgian retail market, particularly in the convenience segment, by strengthening its network of existing Delhaize stores. The transaction is subject to the approval of the Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) and is expected to close by the end of 2025.
