Restaurant Brands International Inc. (RBI) has reached an agreement to acquire all of Carrols Restaurant Group Inc.'s issued and outstanding shares for approximately $1.0 billion. As the largest Burger King franchisee in the United States, Carrols operates over 1,000 Burger King restaurants and 60 Popeyes restaurants. This acquisition will accelerate Burger King's path to modernizing its image and is part of RBI's strategy to drive sales growth and support franchisee profitability.
